Sic Bo has been rapidly gaining in popularity because it is a simple game, easy to learn and play. The only equipment required is a Sic Bo table layout for wagering, three six-sided dice, and casino chips for placing bets. Sic Bo, which means dice pair, is an ancient gambling game in China. It is very popular in Macau, while in the United States it is often found at Atlantic City casinos. The Basics of Sic Bo

In most casinos, the Sic Bo table will be staffed by three dealers—one to spin the dice and oversee the game; a second dealer to look after collecting and paying out bets on the Big side of he table; and a third dealer looking after the Small side. Unlike Craps, players never handle the dice.
The main dealer is responsible for calling out “No more bets,” so that wagering ends before the dice are mixed. Any attempted late bets must be taken back. Once the dice come to rest, the winning combinations light up within the table layout. All losing bets are collected immediately, and then the winning wagers are paid off. Winning players may pick up their chips and begin betting again as soon as the table lights are turned off.
Sic Bo Bets and Payouts
Every player at the Sic Bo table is trying to predict how the three dice will land. They can predict one die, two dice, or all three dice in a number of ways. In fact, there are exactly eight universal betting possibilities, as follows.
Single Number Bet – Wagers are made on any of the six possible faces of the die that may appear, 1 through 6; payouts range from 1-to-1 for a single occurrence of the chosen number to 2-to-1 for two incidences and 3-to-1 for all three dice showing the selection.
Combination Bet (Pair Match) – This wager is on two different numbers coming up among the three dice, such as 2-3 or 4-6; it pays 6-to-1.
Doubles – This wager is on a specific pair of numbers coming up on two of the three dice, such as 4-4 or 6-6; it pays 10-to-1.
Triples – This wager is on the same specified number coming up on all three dice, such as 4-4-4 or 6-6-6; it pays at least 150-to-1 and as much as 180-to-1 in some casinos.
Any Triple – This wager is on any non-specified number coming up on all three dice; it pays 30-to-1.
Three Dice Total Bet – This wager is on a specific total, from 4 to 17, coming up when the pips on the faces of the three dice are added up; it usually pays 60-to-1 for the 4 or 17; 30-to-1 for the 5 or 16; 17-to-1 for the 6 or 15; 12-to-1 for the 7 or 14; 8-to-1 for the 8 or 13; and 6-to-1 for the 9 through 12.
Small Bet – A wager that the total of the three dice will between 4 and 10; it pays 1-to-1. However, it loses if a Triple comes up, such as 2-2-2 or 3-3-3.
Live Sic Bo
Big Bet – A wager that the total of the three dice will between 11 and 17; it pays 1-to-1. However, it loses if a Triple comes up, such as 4-4-4 or 5-5-5.
Sic Bo - Wizard Of Odds
A few other bets are possible in variations of the game, such as “Odd” or “Even” Totals paying 1-to-1 or Odd/Even Triples paying 25-to-1 for combinations that contain only odd or only even numbers. Some variations allow betting on “Any Double,” too. And “Colors” can also be bet in the Sic Bo version known as “Yee Hah Hi” played in Macau.
